APS is an iOS app providing a Panic button in iPhone and iPad to subscribers of Monitoring Companies around the world. APS is for everyone: from the Lone Worker to anyone walking at night downtown.

To add APS receiving module to your SECURITHOR or if you are a security company Contact MCDI staff. MCDI makes APS for iPhone, iPad and Android devices. MCDI also makes a similar app for Windows PC that can be activated silently by pressing a key combination on keyboard.

APS app
is only available through the Apple App Store. PS app sends an alarm signal to the Central station running SECURITHOR. Signal is sent using internet link of iPhone or iPad either wi-fi, 3G or LTE.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

APS app sends an alarm signal to the Central station running SECURITHOR. Signal is sent using internet link of iPhone or iPad either wi-fi, 3G or LTE. Geolocation is tagged to the alarm signal when available from the iOS device.

The monitoring company receives signal over internet and process this signal as a Panic Button signal according to pre-established procedure with subscriber. GPS geolocation can help the Central station operator locate subscriber.

HOW TO CONFIGURE the APS app?
APS can be configured manually or automatically by retrieving configuration from MCDI's server.

AUTOMATIC CONFIGURATION

Each subscriber receives a code from the Monitoring company. Enter this code in 'Retrieve Config' field of the settings page. Press on the blue download button. Provisioning of the settings page will be retrieved from MCDI server. Settings are unique for each subscriber. They include IP address, port and password information to reach the Monitoring company. Save setting to begin operation by returning to main page.

MANUAL CONFIGURATION

To change parameters manually, go to settings page and Edit settings.

Play sound: ON to ear a confirmation of button activation. OFF to keep button activation silent.

FollowMe: ON to enable. Slide delay settings to select from 15 secs to 120 seconds. Once main panic button is pressed, APS will continue sending one panic signal and gps geolocation per FollowMe interval until app is closed, phone is closed or battery is empty.

Start Delay: slide delay settings to select from 1 to 10 seconds. Start delay let's you countermand sending the signal.

Auto Test Delay: on to enable. This feature sends a test signal once per 30 to 1440 min as selected. Confirm with Monitoring company before changing this setting.

Central phone #: preset phone number to call Monitoring Company.

Additional Information:
IP address of the Monitoring company is written in this section along with port and password. DO NOT change without guidance of your Monitoring Company.

Receiver/Line: routing information for the Monitoring Company. DO NOT modify without guidance of your Monitoring Company.

Account#: your account number with the Monitoring Company. Essential information, DO NOT change without guidance of your Monitoring Company.

Panic code: Alarm code for panic button. DO NOT change without guidnace of your Monitoring Company.

Auto Test Code: Test code for Test button or auto test. DO NOT change without guidance of your Monitoring Company.

SAVE: Once settings are retrieved or modified, press to save new settings.

N.B.: Retrieving configuration from software will override manual changes.


HOW TO OPERATE
Pressing the big red button on main screen will send an alarm signal. Panic button signal is sent to Monitoring Company over internet. Internet connection is needed to signal to reach Monitoring Company. Geolocation is sent by iPhone or iPad if available. Precision of positioning depends solely on accuracy of gps in iOS device.

When follow me feature is enabled, APS will send new signal at selected time interval along with available Geolocation until app is closed or iOS device is closed or runs out of battery.

Pressing the active red button once will stop alarm signal sending. APS will be ready to send another signal if internet connection is present. GPS geolocation will be send with new signal if available. Precision of positioning depends solely on accuracy of gps in iOS device.

Pressing Central# will initiate call procedure in iOS compatible device but calling the Monitoring Company preset phone number. Subscriber needs to confirm call process for call to proceed.

Test: Pressing the yellow test icon will send a test signal right away to Monitoring Company. Monitoring Company can enable an automatic email response when receiving a test signal. Subscriber can view email, usually within emails to confirm the transmission chain of test signal. Test signals typically do not require operator action or confirmation from Central station operator.

APS Panic button distribution is free from the Apple App Store. iOS version cannot be obtain outside the Apple App Store.


HOW TO KNOW IF TRANSMISSION WAS SUCCESSFUL
APS will display a progress bar on top of the display when communicating with the Monitoring Company. Success will be indicated in sentence written on top of progress bar.

Typical tranmission time is under 3 seconds. Transmission and acknowledge time can vary according to tranmission mean and strenght of internet connection with telephone company. Switching from wi-fi to phone transmission (Edge, 3G or LTE) may induce delays in transmission and acknowledge.

Each successful signal is acknowledged by the Monitoring Company.
time out period is 2 minutes. Pressing the big red button will send an alarm signal to the activate APS alarm sending. Panic button signal is sent to Monitoring Company over internet. Internet connection is needed to signal to reach Monitoring Company. Geolocation is sent by iPhone or iPad if available. Precision of positioning depends solely on accuracy of gps in iOS device.

Android app
To get an equivalent app for Android phone, contact your Monitoring Company or MCDI. While similar to iOS app, some of Android app functions are different from iOS app such as secondary channel over SMS and activation without opening the phone or app.

MCDI Security Products does not assume any responsibility for fail in the communication process, for failure of the app, for lack of gps coverage, for inaccuracy of gps location or failure to process signal by the Monitoring Company. NO warranty is given on the functioning of APS Panic Button app. Using all features of the APS Panic Button app requires a subscription with a Monitoring Company or to maintain a running SECURITHOR Software. MCDI Security Products does not assume communication charges for sending Panic signals, retrieving configuration or sending test signals.
